Materials of Construction
Cellulose wood pulp, Perlite, Diatomaceous Earth, Activated Carbon,
and Wet Strength Resin.
Depth Particle Retention
From 15 microns nominal down to 0.25 microns nominal with
the ability to retain smaller than 0.25 micron particles.
Sizes Available
Over 300 precision dies are available to fit virtually any filter
press.
High Solids Loading
Filter pads provide high solids loading due to the large internal
surface area and void volumes present within the matrix of
fibers and filter aid which comprise the filter pad. This extends
filter life and provides greater throughput.
High Efficiency
and Zeta-Potential
Zeta-Potential allows for the retention of negatively charged particles
smaller than the rated pore size of the filter media over a wide
pH range.
The matrix of fibers
and filter aids can be manipulated so as to improve the retention
qualities of the filter sheet, thereby prolonging membrane life
when media selection is optimized. This, in combination with
the positive charge inherent in ErtelAlsop's Micro-Media®,
provides excellent particle retention efficiency.
Wide Compatibility
The basic components of filter pads, cellulose and/or filter aid,
are natural products which have a wide range of compatibility.
Therefore, the need for various product formulations is minimized,
and limited to only those which provide specialized separation
qualities. Additionally, ErtelAlsop uses only formaldehyde
free wet strength resins.
Filter Press Compatibility
With over 300 precision dies to choose from, ErtelAlsop filter
sheets can be cut to fit virtually any filter press.
Consistency
ErtelAlsop filter media are manufactured in our state of the art,
automated manufacturing facility. We also have full lot traceability,
and every lot manufactured is subjected to our strict quality
control requirements. With all of the process controls in place
in our manufacturing stream, ErtelAlsop provides consistent
product from batch to batch.

Alpha-Media Filter
Pads
Alpha-Media Filter
Pads are made with 100% cellulose fibers.
No fillers, no
resins, just pure cellulose fibers. These
grades, 140, 160 and 175 are used for intermediate to coarse filtration, in such
applications as edible oils, insulating oils, cough syrups, plating solutions,
fruit juices and others. Alpha-Media can
also be supplied with wet strength resins for those applications where wet strength
is
important.

Alpha-Media L
Series Filter Pads
This line of filter pads
can be manufactured using a high purity cellulose to abate false
positives, which can result from 1,3 beta D glucans in standard
cellulose pulp. The Alpha Media L Series grades are identified
as 140L, 160L and 175L.

Micro-Media® Filter
Pads
The addition of
filter aids and wet strength resin differentiates the Micro-Media® Series
from the Alpha-Media Series. But that is not where the differences
end. The addition of these ingredients improves retention efficiencies
by adding internal surface area and the positive charge known as
Zeta-Potential. Zeta-Potential is the positively charged site within
the matrix of fibers and filter aid which attracts negatively charged
particles which may be smaller than the pore sizes available in
the filter pad.
Wet strength resins
are steam sterilizable and are all free of formaldehyde. Filter
aids used are Perlite and/or Diatomaceous Earth which also help
to improve filtration efficiencies. Grades include: M-05, M-054,
M-10, M-104, M-40, M-404, M-45, M-454, M-50, M-504, M-504T, M-70,
M-704, M-85, M-854, and M-90.

Micro-Media® L
Series Filter Media
Micro-Media® Filter Pads can be formulated using high purity
cellulose to reduce the occurrence of false positives caused by
1,3 beta D glucans in cellulose pulp. This media was designed specifically
designed for use by blood product manufacturers where specific
controls on pyrogens and extractables are critical.

Micro-Media® XL
Series Filter Pads
ErtelAlsop Micro-Media® XL Series Filter Media is impregnated
with Celpure. ErtelAlsop is proud to have been chosen by Advanced
Minerals, Inc. as their exclusive supplier in the Western Hemisphere
of media formulated with this high quality Diatomaceous Earth.
XL Series Media provides improved clarity and greater throughput.
In independent testing, ErtelAlsop XL Series Media out performed
competitor's standard grades by over 500%.

Micro-Media® LXL
Series Filter Media
For the ultimate in quality assurance, ErtelAlsop LXL Series Media
is formulated with both high purity cellulose and Celpure® high
quality Diatomaceous Earth. High purity cellulose significantly
reduces the amount of extractables released while Celpure® ensures
higher flow rates.

Micro-Clear Carbon
Filter Pads
Carbon has been
used for many years in loose
form to remove color and odor from liquids. In certain applications
the loose carbon can be replaced with a carbon impregnated filter
pad. When using loose carbon, it is necessary to remove the carbon
with some means of filtration. If that includes a plate and frame
filter press, then the press can be dressed with Micro-Clear carbon
filter pads, eliminating the need for dumping loose carbon into a
mixing tank, and then scraping the carbon off of a filter paper or
cloth. ErtelAlsop offers its
Micro-Clear series in four different grades, the MC-30,
MC-35, MC-50, and MC-70. Each grade can be manufactured with
various different grades of carbon, allowing ErtelAlsop to help
optimize your filtration.

Pharmaceutical
Grade Filter Pads
The pharmaceutical and
biotech markets require a high level of functional consistency from
filtration products. To provide a higher level of confidence for
these customers, ErtelAlsop drafted its Drug Master File and submitted
it to the FDA Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. ErtelAlsop
manufactures all filter pads to very high standards, and the Drug
Master File provides the documentation to ensure consistency in manufacturing
and raw materials. All filter pads manufactured by ErtelAlsop are
fully lot traceable back to the raw material suppliers, and their
suppliers, where applicable and are supplied with a "P" certificate.
The low extractables, low LAL concentrations,
and highly consistent manufacturing process, make ErtelAlsop filter
pads the ideal choice for your critical application.
ErtelAlsop also offers
a Validation
Guide to assist in the validation of its filter pads in your
process. The Validation Guide contains information regarding
raw materials, extractables, and general information about the
product. The combination of ErtelAlsop "P" grade filter
pads and ErtelAlsop's BioClean plate
and frame filter press design, can help to simplify your depth
filtration validation now more than ever.
