Pulp
and Paper
Market
The paper industry is comprised of pulp and paper mills producing pulps for paper, paperboard or building papers and converting operations that manufacture boxes, tablets, and other finished paper products. Pulp is made by separating fibers in wood or other cellulosic materials from non-fibrous material either mechanically or chemically. Kraft pulping uses chemicals to dissolve the non-fibrous materials. Bleach is then added if white paper is the resulting end product. Since the process uses a significant amount of water and other fluids, the liquid remaining after final paper process formation must be filtered for reuse in the process stream or disposal.
The EA Series line of Recessed Chamber
Filter Presses is suited for the removal of the high solids present in this
waste stream. Capable of handling 0.5-300 cubic feet of solids, these presses
are available with either recessed chamber or membrane squeeze plates and
can be supplied with a wide variety of filter cloths. Options include automatic
hydraulic closures, plate shifters and mobile cake carts.
