PHARMACEUTICAL GRADE FILTER PAPER NOW AVAILABLE FROM ERTELALSOP

Kingston, NY, February 1, 2003-ErtelAlsop can now offer pharmaceutical grade filter paper formulated specifically for use in critical applications. This product is manufactured with virgin materials and treated with reverse osmosis water, to provide the highest level of batch to batch consistency available on the market.

While filter paper has long been used in pharmaceutical applications, a consistent, validated product with very low extractables could not always be guaranteed. Quality standards for “standard” paper were often not in keeping with the precise standards of the pharmaceutical/biotech industries. In particular problems surfaced with regard to compendial standards, purity, manufacturing and process control and packaging.

A Validation Guide is also available. The document details the methods used to qualify the paper utilized in pharmaceutical applications. Filter paper characteristics, specification sheets, and independent laboratory test data are included.
